Southern Charm Meets Midwestern Grace

Maddie and Brooks’ wedding was a graceful blend of Southern charm and classic sophistication—thoughtfully designed to feel both personal and timeless. Set in meaningful places and wrapped in a soft palette of blues, whites, and creams, their celebration radiated warmth, tradition, and quiet elegance.

The day began at Indian Hills Country Club, where Maddie and her bridal party enjoyed a slow, peaceful morning. With no need to rush, there was time for laughter, reflection, and the kind of joy that settles in when you’re fully present. The lush golf course served as a beautiful backdrop for portraits, capturing the ease and anticipation of the morning. Photographer Laura Foote—known for her coastal, country club photography style—was a natural fit for Maddie and Brooks’, and her work reflected the soft, refined atmosphere of the day.

Their ceremony took place at Visitation Catholic Church, a location that held deep significance for Brooks and his family. Having grown up in the church community, it was a place filled with memories, making it the perfect setting for this next chapter. As they exchanged vows surrounded by loved ones, there was a sense of continuity—of past, present, and future gently woven together.

A custom watercolor monogram, created by Lana Dreams Weddings and Mere Fille Design, became a signature element woven throughout the celebration. Introduced early in the planning process, it appeared in thoughtful, personal details—from custom napkins the couple could later use for hosting at home, to koozies at the bar, and a surprise monogrammed dance floor. These intentional touches brought personality and cohesion, tying each part of the day together through a beautifully consistent design thread.

Brooks’ mother, an antique aficionado, sourced unique vintage pieces that were seamlessly incorporated into the reception. Her eye for timeless finds brought a sense of heritage to the space—refined, full of character, and perfectly suited to Maddie and Brooks’ aesthetic.

Following the ceremony, guests were welcomed to cocktail hour at The Kill Devil Club before transitioning to The Gallery Event Space for the reception. The Gallery’s clean lines and neutral design provided the ideal blank canvas to bring Maddie and Brooks’ vision to life—one that felt elevated, welcoming, and unmistakably theirs.

From the carefully curated design to the thoughtful pace of the day, every element was chosen with intention. What resulted was a celebration that felt effortless yet full of depth—an expression of love, family, and tradition that was as timeless as it was personal.
