September Weddings Recap

Real Weddings

Hi Friends! I have been having so much fun planning some of the most gorgeous weddings, that I have failed to share them with you in my “Weekend Recap!”  So, I bring you some highlights from this crazy, beautiful month of September weddings.

AMY & JACOB

We began the Fall wedding season with Amy and Jacob’s gorgeous blush and gold wedding at The Hilton President.  I adored working with such a sweet couple to bring to life the wedding of their dreams.  Amy and Jacob met while attending International House of Prayer and had one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have witnessed, including some Praise and Worship.  Family and friends came from near and far to celebrate this marriage (Australia, Korea, Canada, California, Michigan) and all prayed over the couple, so incredibly amazing.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour while we transformed the room into a magnificent blush and gold reception.  Icon Event Group provided incredible pinspots and uplighting to show off Blue Bouquet’s magic.  Ahh- the room was gorgeous (and my photos just don’t do it justice).

JAMIE & AARON

September 10 came quicker than I ever anticipated.  I have been working with Jamie to bring to life her Kate Spade- inspired wedding for well over a year and it was finally time to watch it come to life.  And it was even better than I ever imagined.

Jamie and Aaron were married in an evening reception at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Kansas City.  I could not get over the beauty of this Church, it is over 125 years old!!  During the ceremony, Father’s homily really spoke to me.  He discussed the Wedding at Cana (Jesus turned water to wine) and paralleled a marriage to the water and wine.  When we are first married, our jugs are full and overflowing with wine.  It takes “compassion, kindness, humility, patience…” (yes, I took notes on my phone during a Catholic ceremony, but this was good stuff!) to keep that jug full.  If we don’t continue to keep our jugs full of wine, the marriage jug will, over time, run dry and can take much pain, tears and work to fill with water.  With prayer, this water will turn to wine.  I should have taken better notes, but as I witness so many weddings, I reflect on the importance of marriage.  Your marriage lasts far beyond the wedding day and is a beautiful blessing that shouldn’t be taken for granted!

Guests joined for a night of live music, dinner and dancing at The Gallery Event Space.  Aaron and Jamie are not huge cake fans, so they opted to have gelato served at their wedding (these are my kind of people!).  They also have a tradition of getting caricatures done at various events, so we had a caricature artist come to entertain guests. Blue Bouquet installed a gorgeous hanging install over the bar that completely transformed the space.

STEPHANIE & TRAVIS

On September 17, we celebrated Stephanie and Travis at the Terrace on Grand.  Stephanie and I met while attending K-State and I was in love with her purple and gold themed wedding.

Guests joined the future Mr. and Mrs. Collins on the rooftop of Terrace on Grand for a breathtaking view of the Kansas City skyline.  Tears and laughs were exchanged in one of the sweetest and most personal ceremonies I have witnessed.  Stephanie’s home town Pastor came in town to officiate and I loved the personal moments he incorporated into the ceremony.

Jon with Remix Entertainment had guests on their feet dancing all night long!  Stephanie had special touches throughout the event space reflecting her fun and creative personality from adorable pom pom stir sticks to a “Love is Sweet” sign hanging over an arrangement of cookies and cakes.  I adore when my client’s personalities and love is reflected throughout their decor.

KASSIE & BRICE

Kassie and Brice are a couple after my own heart.  Everything was picture perfect for a gorgeous late-September day.  The couple exchanged vows in the courtyard of The Guild in the Crossroads District of Kansas City. Local Pastor and Events by Nellie preferred Officiant, Timmy Gibson presided over a short, but sweet ceremony as the sun set on guests.

Scrape the Plate served up an amazing family style meal to all guests.  I love this concept!  The couple’s family joined them at the head Tuscan Table which is one of the sweetest gestures I have witnessed.  Family is with you forever and we love that Kassie and Brice were surrounded by those that supported them most.  Poppy and Clover created a comfortable earthy, but elegant design throughout the entire day.  Candlelight surrounded blush, burgundy and plum blooms in vintage glass bottles for the perfect romantic, yet cozy feel.  The Bride and her Father two stepped to Josh Abbott Band’s, “She’s Like Texas” (Kassie is from Texas) and their guests joined in dancing the night away to some of my other favorite artists Randy Rogers Band and Chris Stapleton.  Seriously- family style food, lots of love and Red Dirt Country music, does it get any better than that?
