The Hilton President Hotel has witnessed nearly a century of celebrations, and this garden-inspired wedding brought new life to its storied ballroom.

As a Kansas City wedding planner, I’ve had the joy of working in countless venues, but this day felt different. It was the perfect marriage of legacy and modern romance—classic yet fresh, grand yet grounded in personal details. The kind of celebration that reminds me why I love what I do.

From Sacred Ceremony to a Blooming Ballroom

Kelly and Ryan began their day at the stunning Redemptorist Catholic Church, one of Kansas City’s most historic and beloved sanctuaries. The ceremony was heartfelt and reverent, surrounded by soaring architecture and the quiet hum of joy that filled the room.

After the “I dos,” guests traveled downtown to the Hilton President Kansas City, where the Congress Ballroom had been completely transformed into a romantic indoor garden.

Blue Bouquet worked their magic, layering soft florals and greenery throughout the space to create an atmosphere that felt alive and intimate. The color palette was intentional—light, airy, and timeless. Every floral detail complemented the ballroom’s architectural charm while feeling utterly fresh and modern.

Favorite Details That Make Me Smile

So many moments stood out, but a few have stayed with me long after the candles were blown out:

  • The Bride’s Look: Kelly wore a custom Thai Nguyen gown—tailored to perfection—and paired it with Gianvito Rossi heels and a delicate Brides & Hairpins headpiece.
  • The Invitation Suite: Designed by Michaela McBride Calligraphy, the stationery was as artful as it was refined, setting the tone for a celebration rooted in timeless elegance.
  • The Cake: Adorn Cakes by Aleta created a masterpiece that mirrored the floral artistry throughout the day—an edible work of art.
  • The Film: Mullinex Weddings captured every emotion and quiet in-between moment with cinematic beauty.
  • The Photography: Laura Gordon’s eye for light and texture tells the story better than words ever could. Her work embodies everything I love about intentional, heart-driven artistry.

Gratitude

To Kelly and Ryan—thank you for inviting our team to be part of such a meaningful chapter in your story. You led with grace and heart, and it was an absolute joy to bring your vision to life.

And to our talented Kansas City vendor team—what a privilege to create alongside such artistry and care. It truly takes a village to craft something this memorable.

Enjoy this glimpse into one unforgettable Saturday in the heart of Kansas City—rooted in tradition, elevated with thoughtful design, and bursting with love.
