There’s something truly special about planning a wedding in your hometown—especially when it takes place in one of Kansas City’s most iconic ballrooms. I’ve worked in nearly every type of venue you can imagine, but this garden-inspired celebration inside the historic Hilton President felt like the perfect blend of legacy and modern romance. Classic yet fresh, grand but grounded in personal touches—exactly the kind of wedding that reminds me why I do what I do.
From our first conversations, the vision was clear: timeless elegance brought to life with lush florals, soft candlelight, and a sense of thoughtful ease. The kind of day that would feel just as magical decades from now as it did in the moment.
The celebration began at the beautiful Redemptorist Catholic Church—steeped in history and reverence. There, Kelly and Ryan exchanged vows in front of their loved ones, surrounded by architecture that echoed the significance of the moment. From there, guests made their way downtown to the Hilton President’s Congress Ballroom, where the space had been completely transformed into a romantic indoor garden.
Blue Bouquet worked their magic (as they always do), creating layers of florals and greenery that softened the room and made it feel alive. The palette was fresh, light, and intentional—balancing airy blooms with structural arrangements that perfectly complemented the historic architecture.
It’s hard to choose just one standout, but there are a few moments that have stayed with me long after the last candle was blown out:
And of course, Laura Gordon’s photography—her work speaks for itself. She captures light, love, and the in-between moments with such tenderness and refinement.
To Kelly and Ryan—thank you for trusting our team with your vision and your hearts. It was an honor to bring this day to life for you, and to witness how beautifully your personalities and love story translated into every corner of the celebration. You were gracious, intentional, and so much fun to work with. I’d plan this day with you again in a heartbeat.
And to the vendor team—it truly takes a village. This day came together through the talent and care of so many.
Enjoy a glimpse into one unforgettable Saturday in Kansas City—rooted in tradition, elevated with thoughtful design, and bursting with heart.
