There is an old saying that says rain on a wedding day is good luck and I truly believe that Maddie and Jack’s timeless blush wedding at The Hilton President Hotel will bring them a lifetime of love and luck!  The morning of Maddie and Jack’s wedding, it didn’t just rain- it POURED!  Tucked inside the hotel’s Iowa Suite, Maddie and her bridesmaids were getting pampered by their glam squad.  Thank goodness for the abundance of clear umbrellas I keep on hand!   They served the perfect purpose of keeping the bridal party dry while they boarded the trolley.

Maddie and Jack exchanged vows at Lenexa Baptist Church.  Longtime pastor and friend Pastor Steve Dighton joined the two in marriage at Maddie’s childhood Church.  As if God had a plan, the clouds dissipated while the newlyweds made the trek to downtown Kansas City for photos between the Ceremony and Reception.  Brianne and Phil Gray of The Grays Photography captured this couple and their bridal party beautifully against the rich Spring greens and some of Kansas City’s most iconic architectural structures.

Cocktails and hand selected hor d’oeuvres greeted guests on the Mezzanine level of The Hilton President Hotel.  Once guests had a moment to sign the guest book and mingle, they were escorted to the Congress Ballroom.  As the elevator doors opened, gasps could be heard when guests were greeted by a show stopping cake.  Positioned under an impressive floral installation by Blue Bouquet, sat a four tiered wedding cake from McLain’s Bakery.  Once guests entered the Ballroom, the cake was rolled under a chandelier to be cut during the couple’s Grand Entrance.  The floral installation then had a dual purpose as it served as a photo booth backdrop.

Maddie and her father impressed their guests with a choreographed dance they spent so much time practicing and rehearsing. The party continued late into the night as DJ Hyden kept the dance floor full of celebrating guests.
